Wordpress Automatic Upgrade 1.1
I have just recently came out from about 2 months worth of hibernation from any web activities.
I have a lot of catching up to do, including but not limited to
- Wordpress version update.
- Update, removal, reconfiguration of outdated WP Plugins that may occasionally produce errors whenever i tried to automatically update another plugin.
- Re-thinking of my not-so-very-elegant-looking theme. (No offense to Brian Gardner in anyway, I am the one to blame actually for tinkering a bit with his Vertigo Blue theme)
Now, this would take some time and the technical issues of data and database backups must be always taken into consideration. Also, unlike Fantastico-installed WP, I have to take into account that the WP version I have before (before my hibernation-con-vacation that is) was installed manually. And now comes another updated version… and the headache that goes with it.
Hey! I am no WP veteran. Thank god for that excuse.
Now, here’s the most beautiful thing I have discovered in search of a method on how to upgrade my Wordpress 2.3.3 to the newer Wordpress 2.5.1, I came across this link : Upgrading Wordpress and found out about Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin
Using Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin:
- You dont have to worry about putting your site temporarily offline. (off course you need Maintenance Mode plugin for this to work).
- Automatically deactivates all your plugins and lets you activate them later.
- Prompts you to back-up your data and provides you the option to download it .
- Is very easy to use and upgrading your Wordpress installation is done in a few minutes.
Works like magic. Great plugin.
Now that everything is set, let me worry about my web banner and my website’s overall design. At least the hard part was over.
